Well thanks for coming! My name is Sandra. Why OLIVIA then?… Turns out that’s my grandmother’s name. When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of time at Olivia’s place. It was the most amazing place in the world! She had a big workroom full of gorgeous fabrics, exquisite laces and thousands of treasures she got in her trips around the world. My sisters Rebeca and Natalia and me, use to enjoy ourselves making pieces no one but the mannequin would ever wear…
Then we grew up a little and my parents Rebeca y Guillermo, decided to get into the bridal business opening their first boutique: Ajuar. Those were wonderful times when we spent our summers working in their stores… It was amazing to hang there and be around the beautiful gowns and the happy brides… And it was inspiring to see them work so passionately.
Then in 2009 I decided to have my own store back in Mexico… The name: Romantica. It was all about bridal accessories; headpieces, veils, tiaras, headbands, sashes, and so on… After a happy wonderful year, me and my boyfriend decided to get married and come to Vancouver. He had spent the year before here studying and we both love this city. We sold Romantica to a very lovely girl who was excited to start her own business. It was kind of sad to leave all that behind along with the family and friends but at the same time it was very exciting to start again in a different place, with my husband. ..
So now, I devote myself to make this pieces hoping to keep being a small part on many bride’s special day! So have a look and thanks again for stopping by!
